Course Description: The Animated Film Making course is designed to introduce students to the creative and technical aspects of producing animated films. Through a combination of theoretical lectures, practical exercises, and hands-on projects, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the animation process from concept development to final production.

Course content

The course will cover various topics including: Introduction to Animation: A brief history of animation, understanding different animation techniques, and exploring the evolution of animation in film and other media. Pre-production: Concept development, storyboarding, character design, and creating a compelling narrative for animated films. Animation Principles: Understanding the core principles of animation such as timing, spacing, squash and stretch, anticipation, and exaggeration.

  1. 3D Animation: Introduction to 3D modeling, rigging, animation software, and techniques for creating animated characters and environments. Motion Graphics: Exploring the use of animation in graphic design, title sequences, and visual effects for film and multimedia projects. Sound Design: Understanding the importance of sound in animation, including dialogue recording, sound effects, and music composition.
  2. Production Pipeline: Managing workflow, collaboration, and project management techniques for efficient animation production.
  3. Post-production: Editing, compositing, and adding final touches to animated sequences to achieve a polished look.
